Summary
Gladstone’s Nurse-led Walk-in Clinic is about to become even more accessible, with extended opening hours taking it to seven days a week.
Operated by Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service, the clinic opened in December 2024 and provides a free service for non-life-threatening injuries, illnesses, and other health concerns.
The clinic’s team of nurse practitioners, clinical nurse consultants and clinical nurses, see an average of 50 people every day, caring for more than 13,000 patients in its first 12 months.
From 16 February 2026 the clinic will open from 7am to 5pm seven days a week.
Conveniently located at Gladstone Square Shopping Centre in Goondoon Street, the clinic can help with:
- Fevers, coughs and colds
- Infections and rashes
- Vomiting or diarrhoea
- Sprains, strains and minor arm or leg injuries
- Minor cuts, burns and head injuries
- Minor illness
- Sexual health screens
- Medical certificates
Central Queensland Health Chief Executive Lisa Blackler said the clinic made a huge difference to healthcare in Gladstone, taking the pressure off the hospital’s Emergency Department.
“We are delighted to expand the clinic’s hours to make it even more accessible to Gladstone residents,” she said.
“Our fabulous team of senior nurses can work to the full scope of their practice which is very rewarding professionally, and members of the public have another option for their minor health issues.”
