Visiting hours

We're flexible about when you can visit someone in hospital, but some wards may have set visiting times.

If you plan to visit someone, contact the hospital first to find out the visiting rules and hours before you arrive.

To plan your visit, check the hospital's details for visiting hours.

Items you can bring or send to the patient

When you're visiting a person in hospital, you can bring them things like books, magazines and fruit.

Some hospitals don't allow flowers on the wards or other clinical areas. Check with the hospital before you bring or send someone flowers.

Hand hygiene

When you're visiting someone in hospital, make sure you clean your hands using soap and water or a hand sanitiser. You need to do this when you enter or leave a patient's room or other areas of the hospital.

Don't visit if you're unwell

Please don't visit anyone in hospital if you have a cough, cold, diarrhoea, vomiting or any other infectious condition.

Getting there

We have information on parking and how to get there for each of our hospitals and primary health centres.

For information about getting to a hospital or health service and parking, check the hospital's details.
