Summary

Moura residents are urged to have their say on the design colour choices for a $17.2m Aged-Care Expansion project.

Contractor Bridgeman has started early works on the eight-bed residential aged-care facility which will be connected to the existing Moura Multi-Purpose Health Service.

Construction of the project is expected to be complete by mid-year 2026.

The ground works are nearing completion in preparation for the concrete slab to be poured, and work is under way on colours and concept designs for the exterior and landscaping. Community, staff and patients are invited to help select a colour for the exterior of the new building. The online survey is open until Sunday 14 September.

Central Queensland Health Chief Executive Lisa Blackler said the facility would provide much-needed better aged-care options for residents of the Moura region.

“It is important for our senior citizens to remain close to their family ties and the familiarity of their hometown. This project will go a long way to that end.”

The expansion will include a new kitchen and laundry, conversion of the current kitchen into a storeroom, a reception, lounge area, car parks with drop-off zone, and outdoor areas.

Bridgeman is a proud Queensland-based Supply Nation certified Indigenous company, specialising in regional project delivery. The project team is highly experienced in health and aged-care design and construction projects.

Community sessions will be held on Wednesday, 10 September, to provide residents with information about project updates and timelines. Everyone is welcome, at the Moura Library, 34 Gillespie Street, at one of two sessions, from 11am to noon, or 1pm to 2pm.
