Gladstone’s Nurse-led Walk-in Clinic is now even more accessible, with new extended hours from 7am to 7pm, seven days a week.
Operated by Central Queensland Health, the clinic provides a free service for non-life-threatening injuries, illnesses and other health concerns.
Staffed by a team of nurse practitioners, clinical nurse consultants and clinical nurses, the clinic has cared for more than 29,000 patients since it was opened in December 2024 - averaging 55 patients a day.
Central Queensland Health Chief Executive Lisa Blackler said the clinic made a huge difference to healthcare in Gladstone, taking pressure off the Emergency Department.
“Expanding the clinic’s hours to 7pm makes it even more accessible to Gladstone residents, and it’s especially helpful for families needing care outside school or work hours,” she said.
“The clinic is enabling our senior nurses to work at the top of their scope to deliver frontline care, and members of the public have another option for their minor health issues.”
Conveniently located at Gladstone Square Shopping Centre in Goondoon Street, the clinic can help with:
- Fevers, coughs and colds
- Infections and rashes
- Vomiting or diarrhoea
- Sprains, strains and minor arm or leg injuries
- Minor cuts, burns and head injuries
- Minor illness
- Sexual health screens
- Medical certificates
