We’ve started planning a new satellite renal dialysis unit at Emerald Hospital.
The plan includes 3 renal dialysis chairs with space for more in the future, in a new building, with an undercover connection to the main hospital.
Building the unit on the hospital campus means staff can provide clinical support when needed. Our renal health service, based at Rockhampton Hospital, will support patient care at the satellite unit.
The new unit means dialysis patients from Emerald and nearby communities will no longer need to travel to Rockhampton Hospital for treatment.
